  37. On june 1st 1994, during the 22739th orbit, the CW beacon was turned ON=
  38. . This
  39. operation was done by the control station (Norberto Pennini, LU8DYF) an=
  40. d the
  41. station encharged of the CW beacon (Rub=82n Ferreiro, LU6DYD).
  42.  
  43. Norberto (LU8DYF), turned OFF the "B" transmitter (437.125 MHz) and tur=
  44. ned ON
  45. the "A" transmitter (437.150 MHz). While this procedure took place, Rub=
  46. =82n
  47. captured some telemetry. When Norberto swapped the transmitters, Rub=82=
  48. n started
  49. to send the PN sequence, encharged to turn ON the CW beacon. After more=
  50.  than 9
  51. months, the CW beacon was started again.
  52.  
  53. On june 2nd 1994, during the 22754th orbit, the CW beacon was turned OF=
  54. F. This
  55. operation was done by Norberto and Rub=82n.
  56. Rub=82n turned OFF the CW beacon and Norberto swapped again the two tra=
  57. nsmitters.
  58. Once again, the CW beacon is OFF and the "B" Raised Cosine PSK transmit=
  59. ter
  60. (437.125 MHz) is ON.

  63. We encourage those stations that have telemetry reports for this period=
  64.  to send
  65. them to us for analisys purposes.

  68. Overseas stations: If you capture any LUSAT-1 telemetry and send it in =
  69. raw-mode
  70. to the satellite control station, you'll receive a certificate for your
  71. collaboration. These telemetry reports can be sent either via packet ra=
  72. dio to
  73. LU8DYF@LU8DYF.BA.ARG.SOAM and LU8DYF@ANY-ACTIVE-SATELLITE, or via Inter=
  74. net to:

  77. If you intend to use the satellite, please remember that the BBS is NOT=
  78.  LOADED
  79. and it will NOT be operational for the next 2 weeks (approx.).

  119. To follow up what I said yesterday about M^2 antennas and my problem
  120. with SWR on my new Mode B setup:

  125. It was, in fact, the cable.  I replaced the feeds with brand new 9913
  126. equivalent, and the SWR problem went away.  Well, I did have to tweak
  127. the position of the shorting blocks on the 2m array for best SWR, but
  128. that was my assembly error, not the antenna.

  145. Just my opinion...save your money and buy a better quality antenna
  146. like KLM or M^2.  I can almost guarantee you won't be happy with
  147. the Cushcraft and end up buying something else anyway.  The satellite
  148. antennas are not their best product by any means, and besides so-so
  149. performance, they may blow apart in the first good wind storm.

  166. I started out with this setup, and I don't recomend it. The two
  167. antennas don't point to the same boresight (patterns aren't
  168. symmetric with the booms), and SWR rises significantly when they 
  169. are wet, even from heavy dew. I made a bunch of contacts using 
  170. this setup, but switching to KLM antennas made a world of difference.
  171. I'm using the 22C and 40CX now, and am much happier.
